GEM Professionals LLC ("GEM Professionals," "we," "us") is a trucking and logistics company based in Fitchburg, Wisconsin (USDOT 4329928, MC 1690441). This policy explains what information we collect through gemprofessionalsllc.com, our quote form, phone calls, emails and text messages, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Information you give us. Your name, phone number, email address, pickup and delivery locations, freight type, weight, timing and any other details you include when you request a quote, call, email or text us.
- Text messaging consent. Whether you agreed to receive non-marketing and/or marketing text messages from us, and when you agreed or opted out.
- Website data. Basic technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of your visit, collected through cookies and similar tools to keep the site working and understand how it is used.
How we use your information
- To respond to quote requests and give you a price.
- To schedule, coordinate and complete the loads you book with us, including pickup and delivery updates.
- To answer your questions and provide customer service.
- To send the text messages you have agreed to receive (see "Text messaging" below).
- To send invoices and keep the business records we are required to keep, including under Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules.
- To improve our website and services and to protect against fraud or misuse.
Text messaging (SMS)
If you check a consent box on our quote form, GEM Professionals LLC will text you at the phone number you provided. Non-marketing messages cover your quote request, pickup and delivery updates, scheduling and customer service. Marketing messages are sent only if you check the separate marketing box. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
How we share information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We use a small number of service providers to run our business, such as our website and customer management platform, our phone and messaging service and our email provider. They handle information only on our behalf to provide those services and may not use it for their own marketing. We may also disclose information when required by law, court order or a government request, or to protect the rights and safety of our company, our customers or the public.
How long we keep it
We keep quote and shipment records for as long as we need them to provide our services and meet legal, tax and regulatory requirements. Text messaging consent records are kept while you are subscribed and for a reasonable period afterward as proof of consent.
How we protect it
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, including access controls and encrypted connections, to protect your information. No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Text messages. Reply STOP to any message to opt out. Reply HELP for help.
- Email. Use the unsubscribe link in any marketing email, or email us and we will stop.
- Access, correction or deletion. Email [email protected] to ask what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to ask us to delete it, except records we are required by law to keep.
- Cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some parts of the site may not work as intended without them.
Children's privacy
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
